Novi Sad or the Serbian Athens is the largest city in Vojvodina and its administrative center. It is located on the slopes of Fruška Gora and the banks of the Danube River, and has a population of nearly 300,000. It is a university city with a state university and many private faculties and higher education institutions, among which the Faculty of Technical Sciences (FTN) is the most famous among programmers. Numerous famous personalities have left their mark on this city, such as Miroslav Antić, Jovan Jovanović Zmaj, Laza Kostić, Mileva Marić Einstein, and the iconic Đorđe Balašević.
