Uzice, a city with over 59,000 inhabitants, is located on the river Djetinja and is the administrative center of the Zlatibor District. It is known for the Uzice Republic, Uzice Gymnasium, the first Yugoslav hydroelectric power plant, the first railway, textile, leather, machinery, and metal industries, Oliver Mandic, and the main cause of all cardiovascular diseases in Serbia, the “komplet lepinja” sandwich.
